Okay, so you want to purchase a domain name. But guess what- it’s already taken. How do you go about purchasing that domain? You can hire a middle-man like GoDaddy to purchase the domain for you, but the broker service alone is $69.99.

First off, if your desired site has any contact information to reach the host, try that avenue first. Assuming there’s no contact information, the best way to approach the situation is first finding out who owns the domain. The simplest way is probably to go to godaddy.com/whois and enter your desired URL. From here you may receive a ton of information, including the organization name, host name, expiration date, email address, business address, and phone number. Try reaching out through the phone number or email.

If you’re still not making any progress and have to dig a bit further TruePeopleSearch can come in handy. It’s entirely free and you can search for information by name, phone number, or address. Try to find the domain owners personal information and reach out through another listed phone number or email address. If you’re still having a hard time contacting the owner, try reaching out to their listed known associates.
